Brittany Schofield is the Founder and Designer at Bretagne Studio. At a very young age her grandmother and mother started teaching her to sew and she began creating evening wear for herself and her sisters.
Fascinated by historic fashion, she would spend hours researching the corsetry and underpinnings of garments that give them their silhouette. She found an outlet for her fascination when at age 18 she started her own Princess Party company. She began using her creativity and love for fantasy to design and sew the costumes for her performers. With each gown Schofield desired to create the magical feeling that the fairytale had come to life.
At the same time she was creating evening wear for herself and her friends and family, taking any opportunity to make something new. Wanting to further her skills, she enrolled in classes specializing in Haute Couture sewing and pattern making techniques. She then had the knowledge necessary to fully create her own designs.
After the launch of her brand in 2019, Schofield immediately started taking custom orders from private clients. She remembers watching the original “Mrs. 'Arris Goes to Paris” (1992) with her grandmother and experiencing the same feeling of awe that Mrs. Harris felt when she looked at the gowns Christian Dior had created. She looks at every piece as an opportunity to bring that sense of wonder, to create an experience, a feeling, and a piece of art for the wearer.
Shortly after the launch of Bretagne Studio, Schofield was granted the opportunity to create a collection for Paris Fashion Week. The collection is called ‘Spring Court’ and it is a culmination of Schofields’ passions for the golden age of couture, fantasy, storytelling, and history.
After returning from Paris, she continues to expand the brand and take orders for both custom work and the Spring Summer 2023 collection ‘Spring Court’. Read more about the brand and the process HERE.
In October 2022, Bretagne Studio was granted the honour of showing our collection 'SPRING COURT' for Paris Fashion Week.
